A one-year exemption for UK registered Permit aircraft to fly to Jersey and Guernsey has been issued

Fergus Woods, Director of Civil Aviation for Jersey has issued exemptions 086/2009 and 092/2009 to allow flight in Guernsey and Jersey airspace by UK-registered Permit aircraft. The exemptions are valid initially for one year from 14 August. Visitors who had planned to attend the Guernsey Air Rally on 4-6 September in Permit aircraft will be relieved by the news. Brian Hope wishes it to be known that ‘This came about because LAA EC member Mike Barnard raised the matter with CI Director of Civil Aviation Fergus Woods, and it was subsequently followed up by LAA Consultation representative John Brady. The LAA is very grateful that Fergus took such pragmatic and prompt action.’
