Flying charity, Little Wings – which celebrated its maiden flight last week – is on the hunt for volunteers who are passionate about flying.
Flying charity, Little Wings – which celebrated its maiden flight last week – is on the hunt for volunteers who are passionate about flying.
The organisation aims to offer free flights for children who are disabled, disadvantaged or suffer from serious or terminal illnesses, as well as their families.
It was founded by 18 year-old James Moon, who suffered spinal injuries following a football accident during 2009. He gained his private pilot’s licence last year.
Little Wings’ first flight took place from Eshott Airfield. Its first passenger was John McConville, from Fenham, Newcastle – who suffers from sight problems following a car crash in Cyprus.
The charity’s next flight will give a 12 year-old cerebral palsy sufferer the chance to take to the air.
Little Wings is on the hunt for volunteers who share its passion and vision – no charity experience is required.
