British entrepreneur Jane Howell has taken delivery of the first European Cessna Citation Mustang. Jane, who will use the six-seater to flit between homes in London, Salzburg and Portofino on the Italian Riviera, had previously flown a Piper Cheyenne and decided to buy a Mustang as soon as Cessna announced the aircraft. “I saw it as the perfect opportunity for me to move up from my turboprop to a jet,” she said. She completed her type rating during two weeks of training at FlightSafety’s Wichita base and also participated in the company’s pilot mentoring programme before flying her new aircraft back to Farnborough in early September.Cessna has more than 350 orders for the Mustang and has delivered 24 this year. The company expects to deliver 44 in 2007 and to increase production to 150 per year by 2009.
