EASA has published a Comment Response Document to its Notice of Proposed Amendment (NPA) 2011-16, ‘Qualifications for flying in Instrument Meteorological Conditions (IMC)’.
Its NPA 2011-16 put forward an en-route instrument rating (EIR) for aeroplane licence holders; a more accessible ICAO compliant aeroplane Instrument Rating (IR) called competency based IR and a cloud flying rating for glider pilots.
