Brit favourite Paul Bonhomme takes the top spot in Abu Dhabi Red Bull Air Race
A SPECTACULAR performance from Paul Bonhomme has seconds ago earned him the number one podium position in the first race of the 2008 World Series. He posted a time of 1:03:31 beating Austrian Hannes Arch – who incurred two 3-second penalties. Last year’s champ and Bonhomme’s biggest rival Mike Mangold took third place after beating Peter Besenyei. With an unblemished performance throughout the qualifying stages Bonhomme was poles apart from his nearest rivals. Fellow Brits Steve Jones and Nigel Lamb failed to make it through to the finals.
