Canada’s largest airline Air Canada has announced it is buying thirty ES-30 hybrid electric airliners from Sweden’s Heart Aerospace. Air Canada hopes to be the launch operator as soon as 2028.

The ES-30 is a short haul thirty-seat design that resembles a small conventional regional airliner, with two-plus-one seating and a 250-mile range. Ground charging is expected to take between thirty and fifty minutes.
